Parking fee added to car registration

Another great money sucking law in Crappy Ct. A $10 fee will be added to all car registrations, that will allow CT cars to park free in state parks. A few years ago they made you pay to park, and now all car owners will pay. 10% will go to the parks, 90% most likely will not. 4 cars = $20 a year-reg every 2 years. I'll never go to a state park, so it'll cost me $20 a year for nothing. After they made you pay to park, people stopped going to the parks. A sneaky way to get more $$ from everyone. It's all about the $$$
Anybody ever want to go to a CT park, let me know and I'll lend you some plates

That's pretty strange.

Here in Minnesota, I use the state parts extensively, so I wouldn't really mind such a fee. Of course our annual pass is only about $20 anyway, so I just do that.

If I weren't a park-goer, I too, would be offended for being forced into this.

On the bright side, now you've got destinations for your "Sunday drives." Grab a couple friends, drive the whole fleet, and get yourself some calendar shots.

Like my eccentric friend who always left the lights at TV on when leaving his hotel room, "I'm paying for it.." :D

I already wrote to the local newspaper, and a congressman. I'm 100% disabled veteran, and I can park free at any state park. Have to find a way to not pay a fee when I register a car.

i'd rather have the $20.
Given the option, I'm sure you would.

I'm not 100% sure the parking "fee" would even qualify as part of the registration fees to be a tax deduction. I know as a general rule, vehicle registration fees are considered when calculating tax deductions but that generally only comes into play for those who itemize their deductions.

$10 fee.jpgWell I haven't heard from the congressman, but the newspaper put it in print. Calling the "lawmakers" SNEAKY, just feels good.

The part of owning 4 cars may not draw sympathy from those with only one or none, LOL

But yea that is BS tax. Heck just raise the gas tax $0.02 or something to pay for parking, at least people who come from our of state and fill up will pay towards it.

They're raising gas tax also one of the highest in the nation, and cigarette tax. If you don't buy gas, or cigarettes, you don't pay the tax, makes sense. How many cars I have doesn't matter. Paying tax for something I don't use is wrong. This little crappy state has 2 large casinos, that give the state over 200 million $ a year, and they keep raising taxes, because they cant do their job. Ct needs a swamp cleaning.
