Performance Chip Enhancements - 2ndGens

I am wondering if someone could enlighten me on this one. When using a new chip (on a 98 LSC, does it change the way the transmission shifts under "normal" driving conditions? By this I mean is it noticable that the shifts are tighter when driving around town? I realize that it definitely tightens up the shift when under hard acceleration (which is one of many reasons to do it in the first place). I am wondering what it's like under light/normal load.

Hey Neil,
It has been my experience that the shifts are firmer and quicker under normal or light acceleration. Shift points seem to be raised as well with first lasting longer before shifting to second and so on.

I drove on a ford-chip custom tune for ayear and the 1-2 shifts were too hard for my tastes under light acceleration. Like, whiplash at 15mph :/ They were great at high throttle.

So, when I got tuned again this year I asked him (the Tuner) if he could keep them just as hard under heavy load and soften them up under light throttle.

And so he did, and now it is just right.

Actually he is trying to describe the 1/2 upshift with our tuning the shift points are enhanced along with removing the speed limiting raising shift points adjusting cooling fan turn on temperature, all these features are included in my chip, there are no special codes for the Mark 8 with my chips. I have every file out there for every EEC code calibration.
