Jeff!

We missed you this past weekend! Get that car of yours done, son!! :fart
I know...sorry. Been throwing all my money into the business and buying equipment. The car had taken a bit of a back burner mentality of sorts (been sleeping in the shop under a cover). But I did go and visit some more with the engine builder on Veterans Day and gave him some more cash. lol. Funny how that works. Everytime i see him im handing over big bills. Block is done machineing, and main journals will be custom done then sent off for line bore. The crank is all done and sitting all oiled in bag. I have to order springs, keeprs, and seals for the Mustang SVT stocker heads. (was completley ovewhelmed at the choces in diameter, spring tension rates, thickness, and if youre going roller rocker tips or not. Any suggestions? There was nothing wrong with them when tear down happened, just want higher tension ones so no floating at high RPMs. Heads were hogged and knifebladed. Also am going double roller on chains and enlarged crank pulley so as to not go smaller on SC pulley for slippage.
Well probaly go with 8.1 to 8.5 dished low compression Manley pistons, H beam rods, and wrist pins. I guess i should post this over in the engine thread. Hang on, copying and pasting.

...we are looking at mid 70s...I can handle that with a sweater and cocoa, totally ready for winter storms.
I just want you to know that the first day I get in the car and the outside temperature reads "0" because apparently there is no temperature that day...
I'm going to be thinking bad things about you... very bad, probably jealous, definitely hate filled... "things"... :p :D :p :D :p

Explain to me in detail what all of those things are and I will happily chose at random what you should use... :D

I'm sure it will work out great. :D

We have two bucks roaming around the hood here, that photo looks like it could have been taken in my yard.

So... does anyone know what this plant is - growing out of the coffee mug with this crazy flower?

That's a nice lookin' Christmas Cactus you've got there.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlumbergera

The thing with the fuzzy leaves is an African Violet,

And the spiky one is Aloe.

Believe it or not... I actually knew about the Aloe and the African Violet... :D

The other one (I'll take a better picture) is still a mystery though... :D

Ok, back to the Christmas Cactus...

According to the wikipedia link:
Growing medium - Free-draining, humus-rich, somewhat acid growing media are used for commercial production, such as a mixture of peat or leafmould and an inert material such as grit, sharp sand or polystyrene beads.
Nope... this thing is literally sitting in an empty coffee mug, full of water... :love-it:

Watering - They are more tolerant of drought than many house plants, but can be damaged by both under- and over-watering. Keeping the growing medium just moist throughout the year avoids either extreme.
Once again... literally living hydroponically... :love-it:

Light - They can be damaged by exposure to more than small amounts of sunlight. Too much light causes stems to take on a reddish colouration; however, very low light levels will prevent flowering. Day length is important in controlling flowering; continuous darkness for at least 12 hours is necessary to induce bud formation. A period of about 8 days with 16 hours of darkness at 16 °C (61 °F) has been shown to cause flower buds to form.
So, it's sitting in the window, where it gets direct sunlight. Although I guess that explains the the red middle of the leaves. Also, the kitchen lights are never off, so at best it's in dim light, but never in the dark. :love-it:

In summation, I have no idea how this plant is alive... :D :D :D

Nice looking steak, I get more pictures from my 19 year old "starving" college student daughter like that than I can take. She eats better than I do, but I am happy she is cooking it and not eating at restaurants very often. A nice steak, potato, salad, and wine can be done for a fast food meal price, and she finally gets that, since I don't give her enough money to eat out more than 10 times a month, and have nothing for the other 50-70 meals a month.

HA!! :har:
Her dinner:

My dinner:

She did ask how to season it, salt and pepper, garlic, seasoning salt, or carne asada, since it was a decent cut of meat told her light garlic and seasoning salt and pepper. Yes, baco-bits, but she has mastered what I only recently mastered, and that pan frying/rendering bacon. I did 3 pounds on an electric skillet over the weekend with extended family around, and she critiqued it, a lot different than doing 5 slices.

While I hear these things all the time, and they are very loud, I have never seen one, we have some crazy critters around here, I could see why I wouldn't see this in a tree or a bush or plants, a katydid:

This is from a couple weeks ago when it was still 80 degrees (now we are getting down to 35 at night brrrr):

I swear I am not a millennial, but our daughter was down for our 22nd wedding anniversary, I really despise eating out, so we did a family favorite, fondue.

Plate one of 60 or so, I always over do it.
