Problems after intake swap

Got everything done. Car starts but wont hold an idle. If you hold it over 2500-3k rpm's it is fine but under that it bogs down (stumbles hard) and dies. Had the wife do start while I looked under the hood but couldnt find anything obvious. I thought maybe the IAC vac line was getting cut off but it seemed fine. Everything is plugged in where it should be, TPS is wired correctly. What else do I need to check?

Thanks Driller.

TPS was the first thing I checked, 0.99 when closed, 4.98 at wot.

Turns out the gasket between the upper and lower was leaking in the back. Took it off and put it back on and it runs like a champ now.

Thanks for the help man!

I was going to suggest checking gaskets. I remember having an air leak from a cut gasket when I did mine. But my problem was a different gasket, I think the one between the imrc and heads. Whichever one was orange.

Are you seeing any difference after swaping the intake, im still debating on getting a cobra intake for my motor build. The books tell me the stock is best for automatic trans but not sure.

Cobra intake is huge on a gen 2, not worth it on a gen 1. I saw 5 mph in the quarter from just an intake on my 97. Ran 15 flat at 100 mph.

JP,
Stock intake. Contemplated going with a short runner, but found the stock one with all the parts for $100 so I couldnt pass it up.

Sleeper,
How much time did you pick up in the 1/4? My fastest so far is a 14.6 @ 97. I hope to run closer to 14.1 @ 100+. I know thats hoping for a lot, but it *could* happen.

Yeah, you got a smokin' deal on that one! You need to look at doing headers to really get the most benefit from the intake IMHO. If you thought the intake was an improvement, wait until you pair it up with a more free flowing exhaust! ;)

You find me some of those for $100 and I wont even think twice about it! LOL

I've opened it up some with deleting the 3rd cat with an x-pipe and flowmasters out back, will headers make a big improvement over that? I would probably have to get new cats too since one is connected to the manifold right? Sounds expensive. LOL

I didn't pick up much time, maybe a tenth or two. I think that intake costs a few torks. When I added long tubes, 4.10's, and a higher stall, it went 13.9's, still at 100 mph.

will the cobra intake fit under a stock hood of a 94 and is it worth the money to do. in doing my engen build i plan on upgrading thr cams and exhost. and set it up for a blower.

What modifications need to be made? Is it just a mater of removing and re-supporting the under supports for the top skin or is a cowl hood or scoop required?
