NEW PERSONAL BEST 11.9251@118.14 mph

WOW! What a day. We put light weight tires and wheel on the front of the Mark VIII and removed the back and passengers seat. We added a higher percentage of alcohol to the meth injection, and closed up the spark plug gap. WOW what difference. We had a good rivalry going with Trunk Monkey from TCCOA. He was about 1/10 th quicker. Charles my nephew beat him one time because he beat him at the light (Hard to do) The announcer played it up. They ran the last run of the day when it was the coolest and everyone was on the fence. Trunk Monkey ran a 11.8683 to Charles 11.8708 Both personal best and then I found out to make it close they staged Charles on the rear wheels. I'm glad TM won I would hate to win that way. But WOW what a ending.

Very well done Don! Very impressive for that setup at 7 psi! :har::wave022: I am curious. How do you launch your car Don. I think you might have some left on the table for those 60s. :)

I think with 4.10s and a 3800 stall, his 60' times at 1.8x are right in line where I would expect them to be.

Maybe your right, but I was just assuming there's some room for improvement since DLF ran a 13.47 with a 1.89 60' Just a friendly observation.:) But I guess it does take a short amount of time to spin a centrifugal.

I know I'm right... Mike and I have fender raced for the first 100-200 feet or so.

Then he's gone like rocketman. :)

As I presumed. The spooling process. ;)

It seemed to be about 1-2 seconds into 2nd gear when it was over... not very long. LOL :D

If you watch Don's videos, he is pulling very hard at the top end of the track. I don't remember the actual mph limit with 4.10s, but I'd say he doesn't have a lot of headroom with his trap speeds.

Depending on actual tire size, 4.10s at 6000 rpm is 114 mph with 26.1" diameter tires.

With 4.30s, 6250 rpms equals 113 mph with the same tire size.

That's how I knew to condemn my converter when I saw a datalog of 7000 rpms on a run where I trapped 106 mph! It should've been closer to 5900 rpms!

Looking at my in-car SSHS11 video , the OB2 monitor has me at 63xx when I lift crossing the finish line with 410's. Almost 6400 on the 120 mph run.

My Mickey Thompson Street ET's are 26.5" dia and it's turning about 6,300 at 118 mph. The M/T are doing there job 1.85 @ 60 ft is just all it will do. I ordered a 4200 stall and that should pick it a little. For next year:D. Another thing holding me back is it shifts at 5,500 rpm's and 5,500 to 6.300 is the best power. Is there an way to alter the shift point 10% to 12% with out a retune

Your tach may or may not be correct, but the math will always be true. ;)

Mid 1.8s sixty foot times is about what I would expect from your combo. A higher stall will pick it up a little, but you may find you'll need to launch at a higher rpm to take advantage of it in the sixty foot.

You need to get the SCT ProRacer Package and fine tune your shift points at the track for the best ET. You can have it done to your guesstimate but you'll never know if it's optimum.

first vid i've heard with a good capture of the exhaust.
holy cow. that thing sounds sweet.
Those Magnaflows have a pretty distinct sound from what I've heard. I was telling Don that his car sounds just like my buddy's Supercharged Vic that he had. You could close your eyes and listen to both cars and they sound pretty much exactly the same. It's very dominating and nasty under WOT. I remember driving my buddy's Vic under full boost with 8 psi and that damn thing screamed bloody murder. He was on a safe tune at the time so I shifted on the tree into second at about 7K rpms. OOPS! lol But boy did that thing fly. He ran mid 13s NA and I'm sure it had a low 12 in it with the 4.10 gears and 3700 stall. I would love to have the same in a Mark VIII like Don. I couldn't believe how fast the Vic was for a 2-valve. He had Stage 2 cams in it though which did help him with rwhp numbers. But yeah, Magnaflows pretty much sound awesome on these cars and the more and more I hear them, the more and more I like them. It may be my next choice for mufflers when the time comes and Don's video does some pretty good justice in showing how well they sound. Nasty all the way down the track. :D

I had the pleasure of running against RobertP from TCCOA the first time he ran in the 10's. Stomped me. Here is a video. Most of the sound is my lincoln. ...
Ahem,

Thanks Don.
