Rear cooling mod/Oil pump gears

Are these things worth thinking about for this year?

Will my meth injection and E85 diminish the heat issues in the heads or is this something that I need to worry about, and if so, under what conditions?

Regarding oil pump gears....I'm playing with fire this year already and I would rather have something catastrophic happen like a rod out the block than a stupid oil pump shattering on me and ending the party early. Do I need to worry about my oil pump this year as well or am I ok? Again, if so, under what conditions?

Any input regarding the oiling to the heads? I have heard of issues there but I'm not sure if that should be a concern or not. If so, under what conditions?

Boost King
I have not heard of anyone's engine let go due to either one of those things unless you've taken a hammer to your balancer recently. 99% of the time it's punching a hole in the block without warning during WOT hits for stock engines under boost. I've personally seen it twice - once on a Marauder WAP (hot lapping at the track), and the other on a Mark Teksid (on the dyno). Both were low mileage engines (50k or less)

El Presidente
I would think the head cooling would be more of a concern on a road race than on a 1/4 mile track and the e85 will help with combustion temps with a good tune. The oil pump is more of a lottery draw than anything else though I think the odds do increase with higher revs.

As far as head oiling, I would run an extra 1/2 quart of oil in the crankcase. The concern is the g-forces of launching and high revs starving the oil pump when it's needed most.

I agree with Mike though, the rod through the block scenario would be more of a concern at this stage of the game for you.

On Work Release
Seeing how you are putting max effort on this project, I would pop for a Billet oil pump assembly. It's another piece of insurance. The stock gears are sintered and are very hard. That also means that they can shatter more easily than billet steel. JMHO
