hey guys, unfortunately, rust has gotten a good chunk of my oil pan. oil is slowly leaking out, i was just wondering if u guys know of any tips to drop the oil pan? i realise the engine has to be unbolted, the sub frame dropped a little. u guys think i can cold weld the pan???

also, there is a pan at the very front lower part of the motor, u guys know which pan that is? its rusted bad too, not leaking, but on the verge.

last question, the motor cover says the car is "4.6L foru cam". everywhere i look, its called a DOHC? can anyone clarify please

and thanks in advance

I'm 99% sure teh k-member has to be dropped to remove the oil pan......not a fun job from what I've heard. If you do remove the k-member to do this it would be a great time to put in some long tubes =). I would just buy a new pan if yours is rusted.

About the 4 cams........it's dual overhead cam......2 cams on each head.

some pics from one of Craigs's posts.

long tubes...............as in long tube HEADERS =) You need to drop the k-member to install them, so might as well put those on while you are at it. }( I'm only half serious, if you are going to be modding your car for performance then do it, if not then ignore what I just said. ;(
