oh, man.. and it's the blue velour interior.

You can't go wrong with that. Good find, Mag.

I like the 7s, they have a comfy inside but i dont know how the parts are for it... When i first went racing i ran into someone telling me the 7 was faster than the 8.

I had a thought about this car, what else do i have to fix on it or have i done everything?

The drivetrain should be very similar to my old '86 Town car. 5.0, EFI. Lots of era-appropriate full-size ford parts, and lots of mustang parts.

It'll have many miles of brittle old vacuum lines, but I was always able to shrug and tape them off, with on apparent impact on the performance of the vehicle.

It'll possibly need a new ignition switch, and new ignition module. (the modules were a known point of random failure, somewhere between 65k and 120k miles.) New modules solve that problem.

The previous owner replaced that at 120k :)

see?! :D

If the new one says "Motorcraft" on it, you'll want to replace it again. the cheap Chinese ones were better. At least that was the logic when I dealt with that last..

I watched that part fail on two '80s town cars, my parents' E150, and an '85 Crown Vic. There's no warning, and the vehicle simply won't run. It's a fun kind of failure..

It takes a special tool, but it's not that big of a job otherwise.

My '86 Town Car was still running on the original engine and trans (albeit the trans was slipping badly) when I gave it away to a friend at ~330,000 miles.. It was a good car.

Dont know what brand exactly, considering how recent it was i dont think i should worry about it even if it was a motorcraft.

Out of the last 5 owners i think ive driven this car the most
