Researching Budget Build

Thanks for the links. I should have specified on the brakes. Its budget neutral as long as you are replacing with stock components. I'll weigh my options and see if I can afford to upgrade some but With everything fresh the stock set up should be fine.

Drove the car today and the motor and trans are really good. I couldn't be happier there....But Every bushing on the front end could stand to be changed. Today I also changed the oil, vacuumed the interior, filled it up with 93 octane, switched the wheels around to match. Bled the front brakes as well. It worked for about 5 minutes. Assuming it's a bad caliper. Didn't take the time to check it out. I will sort the brakes before worrying about the rebuilding the front end. Weather is suppose to warm up next weekend so I plan on spending some time cleaning it up so its not such an eyesore.

Too bad they won't let you do a little upgrade on the safety gear.

Fresh fluid, rotors, and the "grippiest" pads you can find will probably get the job done. I can attest to the improvements to be had by upgrading, but rules are rules. :)

I've heard of people improving brake feel by swapping out rubber lines for braided ones, too. perhaps that will make less of a dent in your budget if you can find them.

I can use the upgraded parts if I can prove they cost the same or less than the stock components. If they cost more, I have to count the different against me. So, If I can find a deal it may be worth it.

you can get hawk or carbotech for the stock setup i think, and that will probably do you.
if not, you can look at new edge gt/v6 calipers and tbird rotors.
should be cheap, and should have pad options because mustang.
a little smaller but its dual piston.
i dont think they bolt directly on, but i think its quick grinder work.

Got the coil over kit in. Waiting on the end links to get here though. Forgot to swap the wheels. To-Do list is growing. I've got to do something with the brakes asap. They are terrible. Luckily that won't count against my budget. Need to track down a small oil leak as well. Thanks to this board I have good idea of where to start.

Car looks day and night better!

Does anyone know if #1 the SS brake lines and hoses can still be ordered from Inline tube? Last thread I can find, then didn't have the template. If not where is the best bet? and #2 If anyone is still making the rear shock mounting plates?

Call Inline Tube and refer them to invoice 202398 from 10/8/2012. ;)

Got the rear end links on tonight. Shorter ones I ordered got the sway bar nice and flat at ride height no cutting needed.

To Do
#1 drivers front caliper
#2 oil filter adapter gasket
#3 blend door actuator(man that noise is annoying)
#4 Front uppers, lowers and strut rod bushings
#5rear solid mounts

once I get this done The car should ride and drive fairly well And I'll be able to better prioritize how to improve it.

Yup, get ahold of Jay for the front bushing kit and the aft ones can be purchased at SCP.

Does that cut into your race budget?

Yeah it does. So I need to keep it as cheap as possible. I may replace the upper and lowers and see if they are necessary.
