Rolling or Trimming Rear Fenders

So I'd love to run 275/40R18 on my Speedstars in the rear.

I'm installing poly bushing to hopefully minimize movement laterally, but even with that, it will still rub.

I've noticed that there is a large lip that looks like it can be trimmed in the rear and I'd almost prefer that over rolling them.

Suggestions?

There is a special roller for doing this. Many have done it. You can also trim it. You have to be careful executing the rolling method or the paint can crack.

I have access to the Eastwood roller. I used one on my Fusion. I was just hoping trimming it might've worked.

Yes, people have trimmed the fender lip as well. Just don't go beyond the spot welds. I tried to get the body shop to roll or trim mine when it was there but they politely declined.

That's what I need to do. I'm more fearful now since the R&R of the DS quarter panel as upon close inspection there is obvious bondo work in the lip of the fender well. :(
That is not good :frown:
Maybe a magnet will give a clue how much is there.

Might not be enough for 275's
I would cut and roll and ask a local tire place to let you mount a set to see.
You might want to try something less with that offset.
Ordered the parts to do a hub swap last night, so now my wheel choice will expand. Now to find someone that wants these black Speedstars.

I rolled mine. I'm not a fan of the trimming method, but its your car, whatever you feel comfortable with.
