RSS Feeds

Does anyone on the site actually LIKE the RSS feeds? If the majority of the folks here DO NOT want them, can we get rid of them? Can we start a poll to see? What does it take to start a poll?

I will vote to get rid of them. I've been able to ignore them until the new site puts them in new posts.

FYI - the RSS feeds started showing in the new posts search after the forums were moved to the new server. Patience is requested in making finishing tweaks.

Well, I'll warn you. You can make a poll no problem, but it can be tampered with. Were you around Bud when we did that testing thing? Oh, and the polls show who voted for what too in the admin panel, just an FYI.

I hate the RSS Feeds but I live with them because they are supposed to be good for the site. And actually there have been probably a few items of interest in the Ford or Lincoln news that I've checked out.

he might be seeing them from the new posts link on the top right as opposed to the new posts link in the middle of the navbar that you edited.

10 point - fluid & I select the "New Posts" by clicking New Posts in the middle of the bar above the posts.

When you mouse over the "New Posts" button, at the bottom of your Explorer window should say whay the link is. It should be...

http://www.lincolnsofdistinction.org/vbulletin/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=8,11,13

The "&exclude=8,11,13" tag at the end tells the forum search to not look in forums 8,11 and 13. Is that what yours says?

Have you tried marking the forums read lately?

Good catch Mike. The "Today's Posts" selection under "Quick Links" does not have the exclude function.
