So? What do you think?

Norm - you're not going to believe it when I tell you.

As Exotic_LSC explained - it's simply an OEM Taurus '98 unit.

I bought it at www.spoilerdepot.com and they painted it for an additional $85.00. (Taurus black "UA" is the same paint as Mark VIII "UA")

It arrives in a nice cardboard box - all bubble wrapped, and rubbed out and ready to mount for under $200.

Except for the loose bolt that fell into the frame of the truck lid - which rolls around every time I open the trunk - it was maybe a one hour job with nothing but a drill motor and some nerves of steel ( Have YOU ever drilled four holes in a virgin Mark VIII trunk lid?).

The only worry I had was that the trunk would slam shut when open - due to the extra weight - which turned out to be a blessing. The truck is actually weighted better now - WITH the spoiler.

Thing I liked about Exotic_LSC's idea - was the way the spoiler followed the hump.

I am sorry, but if Steve, Norm, and Joe like it, I must now hate it. Hey, I have to be me. :+

Looks awesome!!

We have a 2001 Taurus spoiler somewhere at the shop. I should dig it out and see if it fits on my Gen 2.

That may look good?

I heartily disagree with the rice thing. From the first pic, the thing looks like it belongs there and looks stock. I would just like it better if it fit just as well but came down on the edges like the newer one. Geno, just for kicks find a first gen and set it on there and shoot a couple of pics if it's not too hard. You can photoshop the color and all if it's workable.

I'm not a big wing fan, but that looks tasteful. I like it! And where were you when we went to Hooters a couple weeks ago?

He was puttin' on his wing !! :) j/k

I am not a fan of wings on luxury cars, sorta like a dress on boys to my school of thought, but the one you used is the best one I have seen on a Mark. To my school of thought a wing on a Cadillac or Lincoln is akin to whitewalls on a Mustang Cobra, in that it confuses the mind. Yours is tasteful.

So glad to see someone try this approach. I've been spying those Taurus wings for almost a year now. Now I can see what one looks like on a black Gen2.

Thanks for breaking some ground on this. The only downside, I should have done it first! Doh!

Take some more shots. A full side profile would be nice to see as well.

One thing I noticed, is that it looks like it would be very difficult to clean and wax around, and might leave some areas which you cant get into. Im assuming you sealed it so you wont be able to remove it to wax, and I can tell by your pics you are really good about caring for your car exterior. (fantastic look on the exterior)

Just my concern. Looks good though
