Some garage roof damage

A large branch over my garage broke and fell. Luckily most of it fell behind the garage, but one piece stuck in the roof, breaking through one board.

It was above where I park the convertible, there were a few drops of water and a small piece of shingle on the hood but no damage.

I had some spare shingles and was able to patch it temporarily.

The tree was jealous of all the attention the convertible was getting and wanted to see what the big deal was.

Thanks guys.

My noise monitoring system actually made 2 sound .wav files of it happening, one where you can hear it cracking big time, the other, you can hear it falling. It sounds pretty cool on good speakers.

I'd like to post the .wav files, but I don't know how to do that. Any suggestions?

So going to claim it on your insurance?
I don't think so. The roof is only a few years old, put on by a great local roofing company, I'm going to give them a call to check it out and see what they say. I don't think it will be that much.

And if like me you have a $1k deductible anyway.

But my insurance had tree removal with no deductible if it inhibited the use of your home, so you can check that out.

Yep, I don't think it will be that much.

I've already got the branch cut up for the firewood, I'll split it in the fall.:D

the stitching on your shingle patch job isn't as straight as the stitching on the rear window of your convertible....attention to detail Bill. Come on man!
