Soon to be a Lincoln family again

It has been nearly two years that a guy, probably texting, hit me going 45 MPH in my beloved Town Car. He was my BABY! People thought I was crazy because of how upset I was. Being as picky as we Lincoln fanatics are it was not a car that could be quickly replaced in the time we needed to get a car. Looks like we will soon be joining the Lincoln Family again!!!! We have decided to buy a 2007 or newer Lincoln Navigator! Our family has grown since the days we had a Mark VIII and Town Car! We will hopefully seeing you all in Carlisle again next June!!!!

That said..... Those of you who know about these Navigators what are your words of advice or things we should watch out for? We found a 2009 that we think is going to be the perfect fit... But....wanted to check with our friends on here to see what you all know!

Thanks!

Congrats. I too have recently joined the ranks of Lincoln owners with a purchase of an MKZ.

Best of luck on your soon to be Navigator. :)

We had a '99 model for a few years and upgraded to a 2010 model last year. When we were looking to upgrade, the 2007 and up is what I was looking for solely for the six speed transmission which made a definite improvement in towing. We ended up with the "L" model in a Limited Edition monochromatic trim.

With four bucket seats and a third row, it hauls six quite comfortably and could seat a total of seven. The rear 60/40 seats have power fold down and the rear buckets also fold down flat to the same height of be able to haul full 4' x 8' dimensioned cargo!

We purchased ours as a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) along with the offered extended warranty. As it turns out, the warranty has proven to be a benefit since it has been in for warranty service several times. Repairs have included a vacuum solenoid for the automatic 4WD, passenger side window motor, front differential leak, rear wiper and one rear air spring.

We don't use it as a daily driver but it does generally get about 15 mpg. It serves as a winter 4WD substitute for the daily commuter Town Car as well as a tow vehicle for the car trailer. When towing it will deliver around 13 mpg (which is much better than the 10 mpg the '99 delivered when towing).
