What size is our stereo opening in Gen 2? DD, D, D1.5?

I believe its considered "double din".

DIN = 50mm (2 inches) tall by 180mm (7 inches) wide

1.5 DIN = 75mm (3 inches) tall by 180mm (7 inches) wide

Double DIN = 100mm (4 inches) tall by 180mm (7 inches) wide

its double din but a hair smaller than your standard double din. to get a double din aftermarket radio in a 2nd gen you need to trim a tiny bit.

That explains it. I bought sharon a new GPS stereo. Everything you read says the double dins don't fit, but it sure looks like it will. Ican understand companies officially saying it will not fit or not wanting to trim it.

She probably will not want me hacking it up. Is it possible to hide the trimmed edge?

does anyone have a picture of a double din aftermarket stereo installed in a mark? I would like to see the xtent of trimming needed.
