Jeremi, initially installed my stereo but it had a defect and I got it warranty swapped with weeks to spare so I am very familiar with taking it in and out now, almost as much as my clockspring, lol. Anyhow, I decided to hook uyp the subs that I've had since the silver frost I had a few years back. Since I have it in the garage I have been slowly taking my time. While fixing the door handle I took out the seat and all and I have so far run the power cable (8 ga.) to the battery with an inline fuse. I got that 3 way terminal Driller suggested and put it on. Last thing I have is the remote wire which I just received. I ran the wires under the carpet along the center hump. It was very easy with the seat out. Soon the car will be all together again. I can't wait.

this is what i ended up doing for my battery cables as i needed to hook up more than four 4 ga cables. i'm pleased. looks alright. has the big 3, with 4 ga cabling for the alt and grounds.

eh? got a picture of what you are talking about?

and basically, my distro block is just the battery lug.
this is basically how the factory did it. everything was in the negative battery terminal. i just added a frame and engine ground.

You're not using two ground points for audio gear, are you? Ground loops are bad for you. ;) Besides, the shortest (reasonable) path to ground is always the best.

no, just one ground point for the two amps, a rear shock tower bolt in the trunk. its all tied to a second battery in the trunk as well.

I need to select a spot for my ground for the amp. I almost forgot that

Whatever is the most bare. You don't want paint between the sheet metal and your ground connector. So sand it down if necessary.

ok I hooked it up and I have power but no sound, its one of 2/3 things. Either I have the wrong remote wire hooked up, although I thought it was the blue one, could it be the one marked 'Remote Cont'? (2nd pic)

I assume these are connected correctly but figured I'd show it anyway.

Did you possibly connect the power antenna lead instead of remote? Depending on the manufacturer, the power antenna lead may not energize unless the AM/FM tuner is activated...

ok got it working, it was the wire for the remote, now. I wonder if anyone happens to be an audiphile of some level. Could you tell me where to set this to be correct?
