Well I'm going to do something I said I probably wouldn't do. I'm just curious to see what the car will do. The car is stone stock with 32k on it now.

Any tips launching these things?
Any predictions for this 20yr old car?

Now Tixer I think your numbers a little high even for a gen 2. I'd give it a 15.0 with a variance of .3 either way depending on the conditions.

It may take a little bit for you to figure out but try to find a good launch RPM

With a stock converter, launching from idle will give the best results.

With a high stall converter, launch at the highest RPMs you can consistently hold with the brakes (2000-2500 depending on several factors).

Your RT will be most consistent launching from idle regardless. It takes a LOT of practice to find and hold a launch RPM consistently above idle.

My converters nearly stock(either 2800 or 3000 i cant remember) and i found 900rpm to be good for me considering the conditions. Although i ran slow due to the cat it was still half a second faster than from idle

Thanks for the replies. My first guess was around 1000 for the first pass, I'll do an idle launch on the second run. I have a 3500 stall in my Mustang and my best 60's are leaving at 2500 if I try to go any higher it pulls through the lights.

Yes, like driller said launching from idle is best, you will have to get the technique down of flashing the converter just right. Traction control off. And just spinning the stock tires to clean them off works best, no water trap or big burn outs. With the gearing of the LSC, I would start of in D then after the shift to 2nd move it down to 2 to stop the up shift to 3rd, you should hit red line as you just cross the line. I say you can get a 14.9

I think the best time ive ever seen was 14.67 but that was with a gen 1.
I have to agree with the burnout thing, i always did iy on a dry surface just for a second beforehand and rolled through the water

So 14.6 is the stock number to beat?
I wonder if it would be worth changing the plugs even tho they only have 32k on them?

Well I got bored and changed the plugs anyways. Some were cruddy and rusty. The plug hole in the last cylinder on passenger side and cop boot was caked with an orangish paste/crud, I've never seen that before

My best in the stock Gen II was a 14.8? IIRC years ago and in Houston (near sea level), new plugs, I forgot some other tricks.... Don't lock into 2nd gear until you're sure. I did that in houston, hit the rev limiter, freaked out and tried to put it in drive but hit reverse instead! :)

Consistently she used to run low 15's. Then we expected lower after mods, but now she's old and hurting.

And change tire pressures to suit.

Yep it's been a couple years since I've run on stock radials. Last car I ran on radials was a SRT8 Challenger I used to have. I don't think this car will 60' or run like the 392 used to!
