My only advice is to take your time and inspect as you go. The rattle I was sure were my SRB's, turned out to be my sway bar end links. A much, much easier job.
end links are a very common source of front end clunks. If they have not been changed in a long time it would not be a bad idea. They are cheap and easy to change. Plus, no need to do alignment.
