that's not an easy swap.
from top to bottom:

everything except the heads and block.
the intake/IMRC's and IMRC motor, fuel system, electrical system, cruise control system, ignition system, PCM, relays and sensors....all different pretty much.

I'd keep the 98's tranny if it's available.

In all honesty, it would be more cost effective to buy another car, or hold out for a 97-98 engine

not a problem to swap everything on the motor. my other question is when I go to remove the bad motor from the 98 should I pull motor and transmission together to make swap easier or pull just the motor and leave tranny in car?

... and valve covers. You'll also need to swap the power steering reservoir bracket and remove the passenger side coil bracket.

If it were me, I'd drop the engine with the transmission and k-member.

I too would "drop" them BOTH out the bottom. You can drop the whole k-member, remove the front u-joint off the driveline and drop engine and trans out the bottom. Much easier...I've done both.
I know JP corrected me with the valve covers, but when I said "everything but the heads and block", I meant exactly that...well, the oil pan can stay.
I 100% would NOT use the 93's transmission.

I am also pretty sure there are emission components that went with the 98 (OBD-II)that you'll have to modify to work on the 93 (OBD-1)

Ahhh... yes.

The secondary air injection system comes to mind.

Which means you'll need the exhaust manifolds from the '98 (or delete/defeat the system).

As said it will work... but all comes out the bottom, while out swap intake/ exhaust manifolds and cam covers, not a bad time to do oil pan gasket timing cover gasket the coolant/ oil manifold gasket and replace the high pressure power steering hose, good time also to do those pesky UCAs
