T-Bird

I would have hoped that after all these failed retro attempts(minus the mustang) they will finally create something new. Enough of that non-sense.

I would definately buy a t-bird based on the new taurus platform and make the mark VIII a 3rd car. :D Then turn it into my own version of a mark IX!

The forty-nine was not a remotely functional car (imho). I would drive it, but as for mass production, it just didn't have it.

A Mark would need to have two doors, be classified as a "full-sized" car, have every single luxury option imaginable, and have more horsepower than 99% of the cars on the road today...upwards of 350 in my opinion.

That defines a Mark.

FYI Taurus is FWD, and way too big.

Full sized cars are HUGE. The new 3 series coupe that i just drove is technically a compact, but it has at least the same amount of space as the Mark VIII had.

So if it's was a RWD chassis is the AWD still an afterthought? ;) And seeing as the Taurus is based on the Volvo D3 chassis, does that mean AWD was an afterthought at Volvo too? ;)

I agree though that the SHO should be based on the Fusion, then it would really be hot.

Yea, the fusion with some decent upgrades would have made a great performing car. 4100lbs of taurus are even too much for the 350hp :(
