Tachometer

Hi peoples Happy Holidays.
I've got my 98's parked for the winter so I'm doing a few projects.
Since I have my dashboard moved back to replace the BLEND door. :roll_over: Both ends are broken.
When I break something I break it right HA !
Does anyone have an Idea why my tachometer stops at 2000 RPM ? How can I investigate this problem?
It's been doing it ever since I bought the car and I'm finally looking:eek-large:into it.

Hi Steve.

Quite often the gage dial slides down and interferes with the shaft for the needle, I'd check that first.

Well the blend door is done. It seems to work fine :big-grin:
I have removed the tach speedo cluster. When I turn it upside down it does go past 2000, whatever that means. The man at the Lincoln dealer told me to clean some sort of contacts for the tachometer on the back side. He said it works like some kind of rheostat.... above what I know.:(I will pursue this later. I'm tired after eating dinner:love-it:
