That is tough, but there are jobs available, I just went through the same. I was out of work 2 months, but I landed an even better job than the one I lost. Tear the rear view mirror off, all that is back there is history, you can make your new future now.
Good Luck to you.

Thanks for the kudos guys. I was in a warehouse position for 10 years with decent pay that let me live ok for a single guy. I knew all along that this wasn't the job that I wanted to have for the rest of my life. My attitude at work was perhaps a reflection of that. This was my destiny to get fired from this job, but rather than letting this become a stumbling block, I am going to let it be the stepping stone to the rest of my life. I'd rather cross the river than drown in it.

Today I filed for unemployment and that was about it. We'll see if I get it.

I would absolutely LOVE to be a bodybuilder professionally but that is a very narrow path and opportunity that most never get the chance to go down. A person has to be really up to snuff physically and have superior conditioning. While I am what I consider to be physically fit for the most part, I need a lot more to become bodybuilder material. I need a "better than most" figure and I need to be marketable at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I am still striving for this. But on the same note, I do enjoy this part of my life very much and having some sort of career in the fitness industry would be a very awesome thing. I have put thought to becoming a personal trainer or working for a supplement company. I guess we will see. I believe a little bit of soul searching will need to take place along with my job searching.

Best of luck to you Kirk. I got laid off a couple years ago, that and getting a divorce were the best things that ever happened to me. Keep your head up and let me know if you need anything, I have a few connections in this city.

I think I made the cut.

I've filled out just a couple applications online thus far. With 12 years experience in warehousing and the high likelihood of dealing with a significant pay cut compared to what I was making if I get another job of this nature, my heart is telling me to not consider this line of work my permanent career. It was a paycheck but not honestly something that really turns my crankshaft like talking fitness with people. My heart is telling me to take a leap of faith and enter into the fitness industry and see what all is out there.

If I can find a regular job, I have something that I would like to pursue in the background. I am leaning towards getting my certification to become a personal trainer. I have requested information and materials from the International Sports Sciences Association and that is currently sitting on my plate in front of me. Either way, I feel the fitness industry is calling me. That's where I am at now, emotionally. I remember starting off at college 13 years ago and not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. Between that and drug addiction, I ended up dropping out within the first semester. Right now, the magnetic field is strong.

That's great, Kirk! I'm glad to see you following up on the personal trainer angle. I think that'll work well for you. I just have no idea how easy it is to become one.

With the warehouse experience, you could claim you've spent your whole career picking things up and putting them down. :D

 , I failed to qualify when I lost my job a few years ago, still trying to repair my credit score after that one.

Kirk, you should talk to my wife. She is in to the whole healthy living thing, once she finishes her masters certificate in health coaching she will also be going after her personal training certification. You two hippies can talk fitness all day.

I can agree here! You're definitely getting more than MI would ever shell out...just be mindful of electing to have taxes withheld or not. MA paid enough that I had them withhold taxes.

I opted to have both federal and state taxes taken out so the 393 is before taxes. It should be somewhere around 15% if I recall correctly. $334ish. So yeah, back to $10/hr and it's temporary. Lol. Laughter is the best medicine in this case. I could easily go bat effin' crazy at this point but that won't accomplish anything.

If any of you locals know of anything let me know. I'm getting a letter this week telling me why I'm not getting unemployment benefits. I went to let off some steam the other day in the silver car and now the rear end is knocking on decel. I'm so over this stuff. This whole year started off with nothing but problems.

Don't worry too much about the silver car. You run that one hard, and you've always got your truck as a backup. It could be something as simple as a u-joint failing. I'd say just park it until the weather improves, and we'll take a look sometime.

You and I should grab dinner sometime this week. I'm buying.

Kirk, I've said it on FB, but there's a lot of good advice here, and I definitely believe everything will work out to make your life even better.

Fight the unemployment claim, every state is different, and follow your dreams.
