"The Imperial Cruiser"
Named of course after the famous Star Destroyer from Star Wars.
They were not called Star Destroyers until the Empire Strikes Back.

Anywho, here are some pictures we took today. Been waiting for a nice sunny day. It's always dark and gray here in Indiana so today ended up being perfect for pics.

1983 Lincoln Continental Mark VI
White with White and Hunter Green interior. Full original vinyl top. 99.8 percent original. Only thing that is not is the tape deck player.

Thanks for looking! Sorry there are so many pictures. We were having fun with it today!
Here is the rest of the pictures if anyone is interested. Shows some better details of things. Just didn't want to take up a bunch of space posting ALL the pictures.

Those seats look soft enough to make anyone forget their hemorrhoids! That is some cruiser! Thanks for sharing. :)

Star Wars nerd alert!!!

(which is awesome, by the way.)

I'll have to check this again from home tonight. The photos are blocked by our content filter here at work. :(

Why two switches on the passenger doors? They don't ALL have door lock switches, do they?

No, one is a light that lights up the opera window and gives the passenger some reading light and the other is the window switch. This things has more switches then I have ever seen in a car! Nice though. even the mirrors are heated!! Perfect for Indiana weather. Speaking of that it is snowing right now! So, I am about to go see how an 18.5 foot long 83 Mark VI handles in fresh snow! I hope I don't loose my other leg!!!

Anyone know where in the older Lincolns section of the forum I would post about this car? Does it go in the Continental section or the Mark section or both?

nice car. I had a 80 almost Identical to that with 20k miles. I sold it to a guy who painted it blue and put 24's on it :/

If you plan on doing a lot of snow duty in that car, it is well worth the cost to get yourself a good set of snow tires. It really will go through anything.

With the heavy snowfall we received up here around christmas last year, it was just my '86, and a bunch of 4-wheel drive pickups that could make it to the local Buffalo Wild Wings for a beer.

Technically it could be in either forum? I believe it is recognized more as a Continental than a Mark, but no need to duplicate in both forums. ;)

Beautiful Continental Mark!:)

Too bad the Continental name was dropped form the Marks during the Mark VII model run.

I just saw the photos. :D Magnificent!

wow.

additional words of wisdom: Do whatever you can to protect the top of the dashboard. they'll crack and fall apart. Particularly around the speakers. the same goes for where your elbow rests on the front armrests.

Thanks for the photos!

Nice looking Mark Amp!

My parents owned a gray '83 just like it when I was younger. I still remember how comfortable that car was and how nice it rode! Almost bought it back from my grandparents for my first car.

So, it is a good idea to get one of those dash covers? I have heard mixed things about it. Some say yes others say just use a good quality cleaner and anti UV protector. Others say that is not enough. I want this car to last so, I want to do whatever I need to to ensure that. Thanks for the compliments too!

That is really cool! You should have got it! They are no race car but very enjoyable to drive and a head turner. Didn't think this car wold get heads turning as its really just an early 80's car. Guess i just don't think of the 80's as something that people would look at as a classic. I remember the 80's very well. I heard Guns and Roses being played on the Classic Rock station! I said to my kids "Don't believe them! GnR is not "classic"!!! Stupid radio station! :fart So, where is the car now? Still in the family or sold?

Dude, I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit played on a classic rock station in '03. I was 22, and grew up with it in high school. I nearly cried...

See, their just stupid and don't know what they are talking about. They just do what the producers tell them! Sorry if there are any radio DJ's here! Its not your fault you don't know what is classic and what is not!
