Some of you may remember my excited post last year when I got orders to TX, only to get them cancelled.

This year brings much better news!! I'm going to England!!

I get to take one car, and i'm seriously considering taking the Mark. It should be a blast to drive over there, and will most likely be the only one around.

It will, however, need a lot of work done this Spring and Summer. (Hopefully Doug figures out the miss on Joe's car:D )

I thought I should let you guys in on this huge chapter in my life. Lots of awesome pictures in the future.

With "LOD" Since 1997
so will you move the steering wheel to the right side.

don't forget gas is about 4X the price here and the roads are much smaller, other than that it will turn a lot of heads.

There will be some light customization to the lights in order to pass inspection over there, but the wheel will be staying in place. lol.

Gas on base is roughly the same as US prices, so I won't be paying too much until I take it on a road trip....... It is a big car for the country, but it will be a blast to take to car outings. Not sure if they have shows over there????

Way to go! Put a nice polish and shine on her when you get there so it'll REALLY turn heads! Yours would be the 2nd Mark, there's a guy here from England who already has one there. I forget his name though.......

I've been hibernating. lol. The Mark has been out of commision for about 8 months. :( I'm hoping Joe's car gets fixed soon so mine can get the transmission it desperately needs. :shifty: There is a lot to do before August.........

There are 4-5 known Mark VIII's in England, and at least a dozen around Europe. Andy Fanshawe sold his white 97 to a guy in London. There are Marks in Sweden, Germany, and Poland that I have found out about so far.......

Sounds cool Micah! Hope you can get the Mark up to spec and get some pictures next to those tiny cars over there :D

I've heard the MoT inspection over there is pretty crazy, although the fact that it's over 10 years old is in your favor, as it doesn't have to pass EU standards. Good luck!

I've shipped a LOT of cars to EU, and rest of Europe, and honestly a Mark VIII would be last on the list as much as I like them.

Good luck with the move. I will be in Manchester sometime this year or at least that's the plan.

@Badsax. I have my own beefy lil transmission lined up. I've seen the underside of your car now. No interest in parts off of it. :p

Still on the fence about taking it, but if I do, i'll definitely organize a few Lincoln get-togethers.

@mad1stgen. Why do you say the Mark would be a bad car to take? I realize it's large, but it wouldn't be a daily driver. If I get to bring one car, what do you suggest?

Everyone seems to be under the miss-impression that my car is a rust bucket...

The weather was crappy when I drove it several hundred miles to Doug's, so the car arrived salty and dirty... with the exception of the rockers where the stupid sunroof drains are and the spot Doug found above the fender liner, the undercarriage is in good shape... :p

Also, the tray thing doesn't even count, those things were made of rust and painted black at the factory... :p :D
