The MKS will be built on the same large-car platform as its cousin models, the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable sedans and the Taurus X crossover. MKS bows during an uptick in Lincoln's fortunes. Sales are up nearly 15 percent this year, and it has passed Infiniti and Volvo to rank sixth among luxury brands.
That would be nice in a pillarless coupe, I might even buy it if they made that. This is the 2006 MKS concept. It will be a four-door. It is a nice car though. I too prefer a two-door.
Right!!It's all relative.
Taurus is now based on the Ford 500... And you bet it is a large car... but it is a FWD platform."large-car platform as its cousin models, the Ford Taurus"
Taurs is a large-car platform?
They tried that. It was called the Lincoln Mark VIII. No one liked it.I"m assuming you guys have seen the Lincoln MKR concept? Still a concept but hopefully has some decent chances of production. Lincoln could really use a flagship "cool car" to bring people into their show room.
lol...he's right...no one wants a large 2-door luxury/muscle car. The Hemi 300's come close, but they have 4 doors and are more muscle than luxury. The concept touches on too many niches, thus selling to none. They tried that. It was called the Lincoln Mark VIII. No one liked it.
The GTOs did not do so well either.lol...he's right...no one wants a large 2-door luxury/muscle car. The Hemi 300's come close, but they have 4 doors and are more muscle than luxury. The concept touches on too many niches, thus selling to none.
I kinda disagree with that. As far as I could tell, the car had the wow factor, it just seems that those who were wowed by it generally couldn't afford it.The Mark VIII was a great car but didn't really have that wow factor that would bring people to the show room. You really had to drive or ride in a Mark VIII to really appreciate it for what it is. The MKR can hopefully bring people into the showroom just on the looks alone.
I know what your saying. I remember looking through a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII brochure and I know I wanted one. The problem was that I was only 14, so it was way out of my budget. I thought it had the wow factor at that age.I kinda disagree with that. As far as I could tell, the car had the wow factor, it just seems that those who were wowed by it generally couldn't afford it.
