on what's better. 99-04 Mustang GT's or 05-09 Gt's. I know the 05-09's have more hp and torque, but what makes the older ones better or what makes the newer ones better?

99-04. the looks and seats are better, 05 has a little more power but not alot. also 05+ are a little heavier.

That's exactly what I was thinking of, i think the 99-04s look mean, and i've read some where that the 05-09s are 2 to 300 lbs heavier. I'd love to get a 04 GT

I wonder what response I'd get if I went to a Mustang site and asked which Lincoln was better? LOL.

Maybe it's just the density altitude up here but I have yet to see a newer stock Mustang(pre-Coyote) run the times that I see listed on some websites. There was a blue one this last year just like the one in this video on drag radials running 14.4s ALLLLLL day long.

Just keep the Lincoln and mod the hell out of it. No car payment that way either. :p

Hmmm, the new edge (99-04) Stangs are nice but I think the S197 (05-up) chassis and powertrains are far superior.

Kirk - My neighbors wife's '06 GT auto ran a 13.62 bone stock on 87 octane. My buddies old '06 GT manual used to run 13.20's. The S197 Stang is no slouch.

I've been thinking and have come to the thought that I feel like i'm too young for it. I completely forgot that i detailed my neighbors 04 stang and felt claustrophobic in there. I've been in the 05-09 stangs before and they're pretty comfortable and in the drivers seat i don't feel like everythings on top of me. I wouldn't really worry about modding one as soon as I got it. Anyyways, some early mods I'd do to a 05-09 GT are exhaust, cai and a tuner :) I love my mark but i hate that parts are so scarce and what ever is left is expensive, and besides I've always liked mustangs for as long as I can remember. One major plus of getting a mustang is the huge aftermarket ---> www.americanmuscle.com

At least you have a Gen1. Parts are not AS scarce. Either way, you're a member at LOD. You could be a lonely outsider ya know. ;) These cars are rare, yes, but far from extinction. That's why we haven't changed the name yet to Lincolns of Extinction. :p
