Time for a new motor

Finally got time to mess with the car last two days straight. Entire engine bay is stripped of all accessories and all wiring disconnected and lines to pull motor out the bottom yesterday. Today i got the exhaust off and lowered out the fuel tank. OMG, that gas was bad from sitting for so long in the trailer. Dumped out the tank and blew out the AN fuel lines after disconnecting and dumping out the filter housing. Was ready to drop the motor and trans together attached to the K member, but forgot to bring my star sockets for the air gun. Sooooo went to cleaning and prepping everything else (wire tying wires an hoses out of the way) for tomorrows engine drop. Might have to go to Sears and pick up a set of reverse star bits if i cant find mine here in the garage tonight. All in all. Thanksgiving weekend off has been very good. Entire bottom of car is stripped and engine bay upper intake, fuel lines, accessories and AC condenser and coolant and radiator removed, tranny drained. engine would have been out tonight around 8PM but for the star bits i didn't have over at cousins shop. It's coming out tomorrow. Then i can see what really happened when I get it on a stand and pull off those heads. Here is some progress pics. Shes dirty as heck from sitting in a working shop, but it will be detailed later once its running again with new motor and transmission.
Was trying to use the insert image function button on here, but it keeps giving me a red exclamation point warning i have exceeded my 8 data. Don't know what that's about. So anyways, the car is going forward, and complete bottom end will be off tomorrow. All good here finally for now. Ill try to figure out the 8 data plan error i have and see if i can use the pic button function up there. I don't want to go through photo bucket as lost links and lost pics always happen there for me when i move stuff around.

Well, that's it for now. Heads being sent off for cleaning, and rebuilding tomorrow. But its stripped and zipped now, and we know whats wrong with it now. Number 8 piston has a broken top ring. Surprisingly it didn't kill the cylinder wall, It can be cleaned up and or resized and re sleeved, but were not using this block anyways. The Teksid block is being worked now. All the other cylinders looked fine except for some burnt carbon on top of all the pistons. the heads should still be good, well see what the man says on them if they can be worked or not. Now to get to converting that new transmission from circuit board back to wire run like this one. And also get into that transmission and see what it really has in it. The torque converter looks funny, never seen one like that before. I didn't install that tranny originally, had the guy at Lincoln dealership put it in for me way back when. Now im getting into every nook and cranny and seeing whats really up with this car.

haha Wow, sorry about the chronological order on this thread, it kinda has pics thrown in wrong places. I think it puts pics in where you last touched in the thread. I should have gone to end and inserted them there. haha. Here is some new ones. Got the suspension back under an bolted up to make a roller. Took it off lift and outside for a through pressure washing. It has been dirty for a loooong time. I'm sure she was happy to get a bath, before it got put into Mikes trailer.

Update on the mechanicals i forgot when added pics. Mustang cobra heads good, both of them, when i was over there the other day in his machine shop. Was worried about the parts of the ring dust stuck to underside, but machinist said youll never see them once they get cleaned and reworked. So i got lucky, also the engine is salvageable. just needs new piston, and new rings for all pistons. Sleeve can be cleaned up nice he says. No scoring from the ring chips. Whewww. So good to go either way. I'll sell rotating assembly and block for low price so they can send it out for rework. Hes working on the Teksid block now. This one is a 2001 Mustang cobra block with factory rods and crank. 8 bolt. We wont be re-using it.

I decided on keeping the Mustang cobra heads and cams and doing standard rebuild with better components. (like the cobra cam profiles better than the marks) Also, so i can keep the upper cobra setup i currently have. Will still be going with the Mark viii twin coil packs, but will be using low compression pistons on the new teksid forged rebuild so we can throw more boost at it.

how much for the assembly...... mine is blown passenger side
Shoot, I should have checked on here more often.Been slammed busy. Sorry for the delay in answering. Next time, IM me on here and it sends me a ping in my real email to get faster response. You probably got another one by now.

Make me a fair offer and come pick it up. It's sitting on the engine stand still with plastic bag wrapped around it. Rotates fine and smooth. Will need new number 8 piston and could use all new rings even though those look fine and held compression. I sprayed it down with oil fogger spray and bagged it. Or I will keep the forged crank in it for my motor rebuild , chuck the connecting rods n pistons, and sell off the block. The forged crank i want is like 1500 for the damn thing. Would rather reman this one to the new stuff if we can.It was a 2001 Cobra SVT Remanned from FORD, has the bad number 8 piston. Top of piston broke about inch of top ring metal off and top piston ring little piece broke off and stuck into the head. Rotating assy only. Includes oil pump and water pump ect. But im sure you want new ones on anyways. I sent the heads out for work and keeping the upper and lower intake since im set for that already.

Or i have another 95 Teksid block now, i have listed for 500.00 on craiggys. Thats sitting in a wooden crate as we speak for whoever wants to buy that one (also has a bad number one piston where one of the beehives let loose and wedged into the top of piston). next pic.

Sorry about the slop in this thread. Sometimes it posts mid thread, sometimes it posts at end properly, and sometimes it just doesnt post at all. I dont want to abandon this one, but it wont load stuff properly anymore. Is there a way or tick box that you can set all new posts to the top so wheen you open it you dont have to drill down like a badger trying to find the end post, to post there? Like most recent addition at top always?
Ok, heres pic of the Cobra block for sale as well. Make offer and come get it if accepted. Needs number 8 piston and ring. 20151221_185704[1].jpg Cobra valve covers come with it, wont be using those anymore.
