Looks good! I still don't have tint on my 98 but I do like waving at the victims every now and then. It's when I picked the wrong fight when I wish I had tint. LOL :p As nice as the interior is on the 97 though, I am glad I have tint on that car. UV rays? Aint nobody got time fer dat!! :D

The tint looks good! What % did you go with? I have 35% all the way around on my Mark. My tint guy said it was too light for a black car but 35% is what I tint all my cars :D

Tint actually isn't that bad when driving at night. as long as you don't have a light show on inside your car. Might want to roll the windows down when backing up though :).

window tint hassles

I wish the entire USA would have the same laws regarding window tinting, it would sure be nice..
I drove my Mk8s a lot of miles in my home state (Michigan) with tinted windows, for a number of years, with no problems. Then along about 2007 or 2008, the cops seemed to increase the enforcement about tinted glass. I got a ticket in Auburn Hills in one of my cars, then a verbal warning in Davison in another car. I had to remove the tint from my side windows, then show them I had done so, to get the ticket dismissed by Auburn Hills. In Davison, they said if they saw that car again with the tint still there, they'd start writing..So (under protest) I removed the tint on two of my Marks so far.
They told me there is a state-wide statute which forbids any tint on the windows, except for the top four inches (windshield and/or side windows) They said a medical exemption could be legally obtained if you get a certain form signed by a doctor, saying you had some medical condition related to sun exposure (or brightness)
I travel nationwide almost constantly, and I see plenty of vehicles with very dark tint in many states..So it's obvious that the laws about window tinting do vary a lot.
My window tint was not even that dark on my cars, (I don't know what percent they were) but they still can enforce as they choose.
Anybody out there ever have any problems (tickets, etc) about window tint ?

I tint all my cars 35% all around. Any percentage tint is legal on the back windows in NJ but you are not allowed to have any tint on the front windows. Over the past 15 years or so I have only gotten 1 ticket for tint which I paid and went on my way. I think it was like $45-60.

NH is fairly easy. Rear Window is up to you, rear 1/4 windows the same. Drivers and passenger windows are "so the cop can see you". Only factory tinted glass on the windshield. If your windows are factory tinted, your legal.

I got pulled over in Mass back in the 80s. Didn't like my tint, but the original glass was lightly tinted and marked as tinted on the glass. I pointed this out and he let me go.

Just got 30% tint on my TC. Not too dark, not too light. No night issues. It's also helping to keep the cabin cooler amid this early summer heatwave in the NE.

No driver's or passenger side tint allowed in California either. They'll write all day long for such things. I bought my 98 F-150 with the sides already done and they weren't dark at all, but I got pulled over just for that and had to remove it. Bummed. Arizona allows limo tint everywhere since it's a billion degrees. I think the Marks look awesome with even shade tint all around, but I seem to attract enough 'heat' without creating add ons. I'm good!!! :D
