Tire Question

I've got them and I love them. After driving hard Goodyears and Pirellis, they are a nice softer ride. They seem to handle fine, but I don't do any autocross driving.:)

I bought two sets of those tires. One for My Little S10 I had and one for a Pontiac Vibe. Absolutely loved them. Wet traction is great, ride good and the tread pattern is appealing too. Probably the best Sub $100 tire i've seen.

Thank you. This car will not see any autocross sessions. It's main duty is general/around town driving with some freeway runs. When viewing the paper specs I was impressed by the "wet" numbers because we are in Florida and rain does happen.......allot.
How many miles do you have on them and hows the tread wear? Also, what tire pressure are you running?
Many thanks.

I am running the General Altimax RT tires now

I just bought the 'RT' version of those tires for my 97 Mark VIII. They are a step below the 'HP". I haven't driven a lot on them yet, but I have no complaints so far. My previous tires were Michelin MXV tires. Top of line tires, but I didn't want to fork over the $$ to buy those again. The ride is a little bit firmer now, but not enough make me wish I spent twice as much on tires. I like the tread design and sidewalls of the Generals. Overall, I am pleased so far. I have noticed complaints posted about these tires in snow, but that won't be a problem for me since I live in Georgia.

I have no idea how many miles are on them, I swap my wheels and tires around different cars too much.:D

I don't think they are a high mileage tire though, that's fine with me, it's all about trade offs with tires (those hard Pirelli's just won't wear out).:)

I use the Lincoln recommended pressure for the car, which is 30 psi. Sometimes on long expressway trips I put it up to 32 for fuel mileage though.:)

I picked up those tires for my LS in 18's, i LOVE them! great grip, smooth ride, far better than any of my past tires. I was nervous trying continentals as i normally don't care for them, but am very impressed so far
yea there good, my dad got them on his 03 benz c320, car really handles well with them, in the rain there good, dry phonenominal ! in snow there good too, obviously not what we got last year, like 4 feet lol. overall a really good tire

JUst put a set of General Altimax HP's on. Great deal for a V rated Grand touring tire. They were top 5 on the Tire rack surveys. Can't beat the price at 97$/tire on tire rack.

I came up with similar comparative numbers on tire rack etc. It's impressive. How do like the ride, handling and quietness so far????

It is pretty good. I am not the best judge of these things. I had a worn out ultra high performance Bridgestone Potenzas that had uneven wear so my reference point was pretty low.
