Good luck! We expect pics before, during and after. :)

Dealing with them for a mismatch has been somewhat of a pain, almost like they were trying to catch me on something so that they don't have to rectify the issue. Maybe it was just who I was dealing with.. I've been transferred to somebody else to see if this can be resolved. I just want the right paint fcs.

Well laid the paint down and the color looks good but was unhappy with how it came out of the can. It sputtered in a highly visible spot that I now have to sand down and probably apply two more cans.

I found a place local that will mix up some for me cheaper that im going to try.

After trying an expensive bupper filler I ended up scrapping it off and just useing bondo because the other fillers was not sandable.

I think it came out good though.

This is the old filler, it was never firm enough to sand.

After 3 coats of filler, laid down the primer.

Two cans of paint weren't enough.

Got the can last week and it's no where near close to T. Red. I figured the T. red they sell should be a close match as a base color, they didn't say anything about having to also buy special clear ect, kinda assumed it was ready to go.

The duplicolor t.red was a closer match then this stuff. $30 down the drain. I plan on calling them but don't expect much to be done.
AT paint is made matching your paint code. It is paint "base", and has to be clear coated DU has clear already in it. I've used 3 different colors, and all matched perfectly. I read where 1 member got the wrong color, and the co made it right. There are 2 T-reds, dark and light. I've used cordovan, on 3 cars, silver on a 97, and berry red on my 95. I've used just about every kind of rattle can ever made, and AT is #1 on my list.

I was fairly un-happy with the flow out of the can, it was inconsistent and sputtered. Found a local company that performed allot better.

Read post 17 again..

No amount of color coats or clear changed the color for the better. I'm glad you've had good luck with AT but that doesn't mean everyone will. The paint is too pink, end of story.

Eric, one thing whenever I paint, is to put the can in HOT water for about 10 min. It makes a difference how it sprays. I have some rattle cans I bought about 30 years ago that I still use. They loose their air, so I fill them up, heat them up and paint. I used to have a repair shop for Juke Boxes, vid games, pin ball machines, etc. Never knew what color I might have needed. I'll guess I have about 80 rattle cans right now. I've had a lot of practice. When I paint a color strip, I paint it so I can't read the writing on the card. I like the use of the tires to hold the bumper for painting.

Bright Torreador Red code JB is a tri coat paint. It has base color, tinted mid coat, and then clear coat. The midcoat is what gives it the unique color. It's impossible to get the same results from a single spray can. Buy the correct stuff and move on.

Thanks! The tires actually worked allot better then then I thought they would. I haven't applied the clear yet but looks like mine is a different shade of red but it still looks 100 times better then before.

I'm painting door handles not anything big so a perfect match/tint isn't needed, just something close. If the base coat is supposed to be PINK then I guess i'm wrong.... but I highly doubt it is.

They're sending me another sample so I'll find out soon enough.

What a difference! The camera does make it look different depending on the angle but it's overall a very good match. Surround is oem and half the handle was painted with the first batch and the other half the new one.
