tranny problems??

I was playing around with the car tonight on the road and it didn't feel right. at WOT on the 1-2 shift the car seems to die(fall on it's face) at 6k rpm's but doesn't shift till 6500 cause that's where the chip is set. I thought maybe it was a fuel problem but decided to test the 2-3 shift at WOT and it pulled hard all the way to 6500k and of course then shifted. could this be an early indicator of a tranny problem. the car does have a chip and shift kit.

I would start by rmoving the chip and resetting the computer test again and see how it does. Does the car shift alright when you are not at WOT??
