It's certainly not doing as much as it could....I looked at the other car. The external cooler is actually installed before the radiator. Would it not really be doing anything as a result?
So who did you that favor? It has been like this for probably 8 years. Sucky part is the line from the trans is chopped up. Looks like another project.
Keeps it warm in the winter, you don't want it too coldI looked at the other car. The external cooler is actually installed before the radiator. Would it not really be doing anything as a result?
The one i installed on my Corvette has a bypass that does not circulate the fluid until it gets over 160 deg F.I am with you on that Steve. Since I have some very cold winters I have always installed the extra cooler before the radiator cooler for just that reason. If the tranny oil doesn't get warm enough it isn't good either.
It appears that this method is also a bit simpler and less messy than the one on the write-up...from what I can tell. I have the B&M en route to an Advance Auto Parts for a decent price because it will be there Tuesday without either having to take a rush shipping charge up the pooper or risk it showing up the day I leave for MA or the day after. $74 and I will call up corporate later regarding the $30 off online promotion that I couldn't use because the site wouldn't allow me to ship to the store. It seems the consesus is to put a cooler in-line and after the radiator cooler. It would be interesting to hear what BTU rating most people recomend. All the mfg sites say when installing in-line it should be after the car's factory cooler.
