Just hit a deer. I usually dodge em', there are so many here, but this one came right out of the bush.

So for my 93 I need a grill. And the chrome strip right above it although I may be able to bend that back.

Dent in drivers side fender but a simple one. Oh well. Poor deer, sat with her till she died.

Where is "here?"

Wish I had a grill for you... you're a better person than I...

I would have most likely spent that time steaming nonstop expletives...

Glad you're ok :D

I'm in Coombs BC on Vancouver island. You prompted me to fill in a few details as I should have.

My Mark is my project car. I only ever had one before and I enjoyed it a great deal. A 69 Cutlass I enhanced with an expensive suspension and a 502 Crate Motor.

It occurred to me I might do another car as retirement has given me more time to do my thang. I looked and saw the 93 and up Caddys and Lincolns both had some serious machinery improvements and sold at what seemed really reasonable prices. I kinda bird dogged Craigslist and other venues for about 4 months and after looking at a Caddy or two had a 93 Mark VIII almost drop into my lap. 'Luxury and Mileage Too' was the ad title and I only clicked on it out of boredom.

A really cherry 93 with Mocha paint and interior. 100,000 miles and a new motor at 25,000. New coil spring conversion and in almost new shape although that sounds weird. One tiny rip in the drivers seat where the strap on the outside by the hinge is. The right rear shock mount is banging so I don't trust the coil conversion much but it all looks and drives good. This rich dude, a very well preserved 70 year old, had only had the car a short while and knew little about it. He got it I think from his Dad's friend and just passed it on as he did not need another car.

$1550. I stole it.

Anyway to the point: It's just another couple of hundred for a grill and I used to do body work long ago so it's just a bit more in the small mountain of things I have planned for it. No big deal. I plan to put the air back and rebuild the whole rear in a few months and although the body and paint are amazing I have my own ideas about the colour.

The deer are everywhere here, bush rats, but they are beautiful and very gentle and I hate it when they get hit as they often do.

I have found a nice grill, three in fact.

Welcome! Thanks for the introduction and the back-story. A good friend of mine is a veterinarian up in your neck of the woods somewhere.

Feel free to hang out and ask questions. The "search" tool can come up with some good results as well. I know a few members have gone one direction or the other on the air suspension, and I have dealt with your shock mount issue myself. it's not a difficult job.

Welcome to the club, bunch of great people here, enjoy your stay!

I plan to put the air back...
Now you're talking! I will gladly welcome you back from the dark side :D

Also, Ford sells the shock mount kit for the factory rear shocks. I believe they are pretty reasonably priced as well. Just an option.
