N Neil New member Aug 5, 2013 #6 What you describe as waves could be cupping or feathering. Find a web site with a tire wear guide to identify your wear pattern. Cupping can be caused by worn shocks that allow excessive wheel hop. Feathering would more of an alignment issue.
