We lost another good one

I really hate to share this sad news, but Gonzo passed away this morning. :frown-blue:

I never saw anyone fight such a good fight. He was such a good man, from the small business dealings I had with him, to actually meeting him at the Detroit meet, along with his family, whom I didn't get to spend enough time with.

Time is too short, and the one thing I hate about this club is the amount of good friends I have made from all over sometimes pass on, and the emptiness in my heart for those who leave us, especially those who leave too early, can never be filled. At least we have our memories and our pictures. But there's never enough time to talk and spend with those we've come to know so closely.

I'm not good at this, but I am glad that Gonzo won't have to suffer any longer, and it sounds like he has a very close-knit and strong family, and I really hope they have all the support they need.

I do not know any details regarding funeral arrangements. I don't know the family, but I was friends with Gonzo on Facebook which is where I found this out.

Let me share the picture his sister shared, and let's please all pray for him and his family.

My last memory of Gonzo was watching security throw him off Ford's Corporate HQ for doing a burnout. Now that is a good last memory!

I remember sending him a PM last April telling him that I would pray. One thing I will never forget is his reply to my PM basically saying that with the treatments and prayers it MAY go into remission. He never condemned his situation as grim as it was and now has been. He never had a bad attitude, even while he was slowly dying. That is what inspired me to PM him because I felt like a piece of crap because I had a pretty bad attitude about how my life was going at that point. There is 2 things that I can appreciate about Gonzo. 1) His attitude of gratitude 24/7 2) His custom hoodliner that I have that Big Red is wearing proudly.

RIP Gonzo.

I'm so sad to hear this, I had just sent him a PM to ask if he was going to join us again at the cruise. Rest in peace Gonzo.

Having only known Gonzo for a brief time, I cannot begin to realize the despair of his friends and family in this difficult time. My sincere condolences to all who knew him well. I know he will be missed here and I am saddened by his passing.

My sentiments as well...

His attitude of gratitude ...

R.I.P. Gonzo.
