Weird Hesitation

Okay,
So when I accelerate, with about 30%-60% throttle, my car (1997 Continental) seems to have a hesitation or weird kinda shudder? I thought maybe it needed plugs, but I did that and it didn't help. I also have replaced an 02 sensor, the alternator belt and tensioner. I went and had the trans fluid changed (my pessimistic side was telling me it might be the awesome Ford trans acting up), and it seemed to make some difference for a few days, but then again it could have been in my head. It seems to be worse when I first drive the car, before it warms up, which runs contradictory to my knowledge (albeit limited) of auto transmissions. Also it doesn't seem to have any effect on the shifting of the transmission, it still shifts smooth and quiet. Any thoughts? Chris

Does the 97 Conti have spark plug wires (I'm asking since the Marks switched to coil on plug in 1997)? If so you might want to change those. Hesitations/Shudders could be several/different problems.
A shudder could be caused by the spark plug wires.
Also by having bad transmission fluid, but seems like you took care of that.
Hopefully this is not a sign of your torque converter going out.

A hesitation could be caused by
A clogged fuel filter.
A dirty MAF

Is the Marcon V the recommended fluid? If so thats what they put in, if its something special, I highly doubt it. The Continental does not have wires, I know, cause I felt stupid when I asked them to change those along with the plugs. I'll try changing the fuel filter. How do clean or whatever the MAF? Chris
