Yep, I'm, home.;(
What a blast!!! Three days of fun and ...(oops almost said 'sun') more fun!
We(the wife & I) arrived Friday shortly after noon. Found our way to the designated area of the show field and was in awe at the size of the event. We met many wonderful people heretofor that I myself had only known as a screen name on a message board.
Spent some time chatting and some time walking and gawking at the many fine displays.
Saturday was a wet suprise(wasn't the forecast at the beginning of the week calling for three days of sunshine this weekend?). ::roll:: We however made the best of it. After spending the morning getting cold and wet, we let the car show itself in the afternoon with the help of a small canopy (originally intended for use as a sun shade), while we sought shelter with new friends at the LOD tent. Trying to fill out the Fun Field ballots in the rain was a daunting task.
Today(Sunday) we enjoyed a much dryer day, although it was overcast. I was very suprised to arrive and learn the '93 had taken third place in our class(modified Gen1?).
It was truly an experience to be a part of such a celebration of grand scale. Just being part of the winner's parade was overwhelming for this first-timer!
Thanks to all present for such a great time and I look forward to being part of next year's event. I'll be sure to post pics at a later post. For those who couldn't make it, all I can say is you really missed a grand time!!!
