For me it was my first car, an 89 cutless supreme. As much I hated that car, I learned allot about cars from it and still am every day.

It was a 1965 Cadillac sedan de ville. When I took the test it was 1968. Wow that's a while ago now

A 1987 Ford Taurus, with the 4 cylinder and automatic.. It got the job done, but I drove the '85 Crown Vic pretty much every day after that..

My dad's 1949 Ford Tudor in 1951. (yes that's how they spelled it) My dad was cool. He let me put dual exhaust, fender skirts and blue dot's on it. Now that's a long time ago.

This isn't it, just an image from the internet. Same color and fender skirts.

I used a driving school, they used a 1986 Pontiac Firebird for lessons, but for the test I think it was a Toyota Camry.

I learned to drive in a 1978 VW bus with a 4-speed.
But I took my test in my instructor's little import of some kind(A/T) My instructor said the test clerk might not be able to "judge" my abilities very well in my VW!
I drove that sucker everywhere, as gutless as it was. try going up Gough st in SF in a 4-speed VW bus in traffic. If you can master that, you can drive anything.
I feel bad for those that are learning to drive in a Prius....they must be very difficult to drive based on the way most of them are driven. Broken speedometers must be to blame. or there is a frontal lobotomy device in the driver's sun visor location.

No problem, passed easily. I don't think that was so much about the test part of the drive, but the instructor was pretty wide eyed at my collision avoidance on our way back to the licencence office when a car didn't stop coming out an ice covered side street and slid out in front of us.
