Just realized why i cant post pics anymore and having trouble uploading. When you select properties it says 3.25 MB shows up on all of them taken from my phone and they are way too large. Need a software to open them up with and downsize the pixel count/ and or crop them up to be smaller. I took them with a Samsung Galaxy 5. I believe now that the settings on the phone allow it to take too large of a picture and its giving me hell when i try to update and slip a couple pics in the forums here.

Properties saying its 3.25MB. And you look at it in real size, its way too big for the normal 3x4 pic we post here in the forums.

If you can post a link or highlight a certain editing software that would be great.

Thanks! I will alter the phone now in settings to take smaller pics.

Thanks Cris, trying it now. Ill probably have to do the song and dance for fliker creating a username password, signed permission letter from the pope thing. Onto it now. haha. All i ever used was photo bucket but they don't allow you to actually edit the pics. I'm trying to shrink down the ones i took of tonight with engine out of car. I don't use photo bucket anymore. Too many problems up and downloading. Be right back.

I use the Photocompress app. I found and used it on my trip to Europe. My 20 MB DSLR photos had to be reduced to email back home.

You find the picture(s) you want to resize and "share" the photo. The app is selectable along with email, Bluetooth, etc. under share options. Select the app, select compress, move slider bar for percent reduction and process. A reduced copy is placed in the app's folder.

I use a program called "GIMP." It's basically and Open Source (read: free) Photoshop clone.

It has more advanced features than you'll probably ever use, but it will resize a photo. Just note that when you go to save, it's "export as" rather than "save as."

Two free picture resizers come to mind:
PIXresizer and
Adionsoft Fast Image Resizer
I recommend these to our members at Squarebirds.org because they do not alter your original pictures and we require pictures to be no more than 800 pixels wide. Yes, we also have a ceiling for the file size as well. .PNG format tends to make the largest pictures with the smallest total file size, acceptable for our site.
I hope this helps... - Dave

The forum software should allow 'attachments' of any size as it automatically resizes them. Direct URL links to pics hosted outside the forum do have a size limit.

But, yes, attachments are for paid members since they are stored on the server. :)
