Where are they?

on another note....it only had 1 key...and from what I've read, it's a transponder(PATS) key...or "chip" key.
This model year requires 2 working chip keys to program additional keys. Looks like I'm not done spending money on the car.
The seller/dealer said he only got the 1 key with it when I asked. I frowned.

Yup, without 2 keys you can't can't program in additional keys.

If you have a locksmith do it (as opposed to the stealership), make sure they don't just clone the first one. If your gonna put out the cash to have it done, make sure it allows you to program in third key yourself if need be. I took an uncut key and programmed it in for my 00 Grand Marquis and my dads 00 Expedition, so if either of us lost a key we could have it cut and be good. I also have a module that emulates the key for the remote start, so I could trigger it for my second key if needed.

Pretty common for some reason to only get one key. I only got one for my Mark VIII, so key is expensive, but can program additional keys with only one. Panther key relatively cheap, but gotta pay to have someone program it in, usually more than cost of a Mark VIII PATS key.

My uncle did something for cheaper keys. He got a few copies of no coded keys made at the hardware store, taped the chipped key behind the dash and called it good.

That's what we did at the Limousine company I used to run...instead of making a new chip key for every driver(who would come and go/quit/get fired more often than indigestion) we permanently affixed the chip key behind the dash and made several copies of generic keys since rarely did a driver use the same car for their days/shifts. One driver stashed a key in each car and used the RKE to get in, grabbed his key to that car from the door pocket and was off...that worked great as long as the RKE didn't wear out/short out over time from rain/water (yes, I got those calls too)

I have to shop ebay now....I have a air bag light with a code for a seat belt...seems to be common on 2006 model year, yet during all my research, this never came up until I posted about it.

I am BESIDE MYSELF at how nice it rides....UNBELIEVABLE ride quality...EXACTLY what I wanted! The incidental costs pale in comparison to the whole package.

A few pics of the MGM

I had to drive it in the rain at 5:45am yesterday, and I am SO pleased...the mark VIII, being lowered with 245/45-18's was not bad, but driving this luxo-barge in a downpour for 25 miles in the dark was like a walk in the park...SO pleased with its road manners and stability...
The child seat anchors come in handy to attach my back seat cover I have for my dogs (Boston Terriers) who love to go for rides but have no respect for leather seats! lol

Congrats on the car. In my working days that was what we drove for our company cars. I've always felt it was the best car for the money. I loved mine and yours looks great.

Thanks Norm...after my years running a Limo company, I learned....one of the best bangs for the buck is a Panther.
Boring to many..but I have had my share of toys through the years, and we still have the 2009 Chevy HHR-SS...Brenda's car...SHE loves her car, and I love mine. I pay for the cars, she "lets me"...and in return I let her choose hers...

Took the MGM to my sister's house last night for a family get-together. Months ago I borrowed her ladder...one of those "Little Giant" ladders:

I had to throw it in my HHR due to its size the day I borrowed it....she needed it back and I wanted to drive my new MGM....so I put the ladder in the trunk.

YES...THE TRUNK!!!

when I arrived, she thought I forgot....meh....POP goes the trunk, and out comes the ladder....I tell ya, this thing drives SO nice.
even fit all the presents, a case of Pennsylvania Dutch egg nog, jackets and a back seat passenger.

It's amazing what I've put in the trunk of my Town Cars over the years.

- Bicycles, (pull the wheels off, and it drops in with room to spare.)
- cross country skis and poles, fit fine diagonally...
- Lawn mowers fit fine..
- I recently hauled a snowblower in there too. Couldn't quite close it with that one though.
