Who's not working?

I'm working. Currently on my days off. Anthraxbird, I know exactly what your going thru. When I was furloughed from current position back in June of 05, I tried various things. None of which worked out. One of them was as a technician for a local F-L-M dealership. I worked there from may of 06 to Nov 15th 06. The only thing I made was indigestion. Between my last monday and wednesday, I booked 5hrs. Which made 36hrs booked for 80hrs present. I couldn't run out of there fast enough. I will never work for flat rate ever again. They can kiss my ass.

Bla, i am working 2 jobs right now to help pay off some medical bills. there are jobs out there, just that the pay sucks

I'm not employed at a job and haven't been for over a year. I do run my own business (www.hoodliners.net) and more sales would be good. In time more folks will know I'm out here. I started it in September 2007.

In the past I worked as a 911 police dispatcher for 12 years, then 3 years at traffic.com which is a Philadelphia-based internet company with an office in the Detroit area, then 4 years at a Ford Motor Company website supplier (Dealer Connection), then one year at a metro Detroit Ford dealership internet department, and I am also contracted to the U.S. Department of Justice for translating Spanish to English. However that's only a temporary position and there's only work when they have a need.

I voluntarily left the police department in 2000 due to extremely low pay, then was laid off from the next 3 jobs! So now I focus on growing my business. I do have a resume out there and have been to a few interviews but nothing has come of it.

Screw that flat rate crap. Did that for 5 years at a Jeep/Chrysler dealer before I joined the police department. I remember pushing a broom for free all damn day hoping someone would come in for an oil change.

Now I'm forced to work a double on Christmas for double time and a half. Merry Christmas... :D

I'm not sure your double time and a half makes me feel that bad for you... :p

But I just wanna make sure I don't feel that bad... you're saying $1 is now = $2.50? or is double time and a half mean $1 is now = $3? (although I think that would be triple time?)

Ten wonderful days in a row off !! That doesn't happen very often, for me..
I'll be back at it on the first though. My stategy to make the rest of winter zoom by will be to stay busy as possible, and make plenty of $$$$.
Then I can kick back a little when the summer:) finally happens..

Was in the hospital Dec 22 to Dec 26 for internal bleeding.
