Winter has arrived.

Looks like fun Mike.

We're finally getting some winter here too, it's been snowing for a few hours now.

Why are you outside? Here 3, well, actuall 11 deg., low of 1. Ew. I need to winter in FL.
What difference would it make if you never go outside anyway ;)

-12 below this morning. It's But cold and I am fresh out of beer! On the plus side I have had my Mark VIII for 3 1/2 years and still runs strong as hell. Everything is good!

Brr.... Too bad about the beer problem, though...

It was cold enough here that my outdoor thermometer sensor stopped working.. Still, I'm guessing you've got me beat..

brrrrrrrr. I didn't even think to check mine.

Which reminds me though. I recently picked up a little programmable timer from Amazon that I've wired into my heated seat. It pre-heats the seat for me every weekday morning, and it's fantastic.

Here's what I got.. It comes right from China, which is always fun, but takes some time to arrive.. The thing is a little bit "bulky." probably 2" x 2" x 1" Works great though.

The manual refers to a "B" variant which includes both "normally open" as well as "normally closed" outputs, which would have simplified wiring significantly. I just looked for it now, and couldn't find it for you.. Maybe ebay..

As it is, I had to use the output on this to switch a 12v relay, which toggled the hot lead for the seat between the switched ignition lead and the constant 12v tapped from the cigar lighter.

I have had boost creep to 10 psi on Big Red and that usually happens once it hits 50 degrees in the upper rpms. I wonder if I could get 12 psi if I took it out tonight.

On second thought. Nahh. Let's not do that. LOL

On a side note, my 2002 Grand Marquis just had a 195,000 mile birthday this last week. Other than the bloody murder shriek of the power steering pump on cold startups in this weather and clunky swaybar bushings I have been putting off, she is driving flawlessly. One thing I can always bet money on is that this beast will start first cycle of the key even at -26F. I tested that theory last year. :D

Once this cold weather gets out of the way, it's time to get down to business for 2016. My gently used Hoosiers are going to my buddy Dusty as a partial trade for labor. I'm dropping those off this weekend and we are going to talk about "stuff to do".
