Worst Luxury Sedan - 2014 Lincoln MKS: For about $50,000 you can buy an Audi A6, BMW 5 Series or a loaded Lexus ES 350. Alternatively, you can buy a version of the car we just declared the worst full-size sedan, albeit with more equipment, fewer buttons and a grille inspired by the baleen of a right whale.

Lincoln's MKS is not the only luxury vehicle mechanically related to a non-luxury model. The Cadillac XTS shares a platform with the Buick LaCrosse, for instance, while the Lexus ES 350 shares its underbits with the Toyota Avalon. The difference is that those plebeian relatives are better than the Taurus, and there is a much greater distinction between them. You'd be hard-pressed to spot their genetic similarities whether behind their wheel or simply eyeing them from the curb. The MKS, on the other hand, is pure Taurus: similar shape, driving experience, interior space, compromised visibility and engines.

Many of the same complaints can be leveled against the Ford Fusion-based Lincoln MKZ, but it's dipping into a more gifted gene pool.

I agree with Steve, and if I may digress a bit,
Back in the late 70's, FoMoCo did a Mercury Monarch / Ford Granada makeover
and called it the Lincoln Versailles as I am sure all recall. Unlike its competitor, the Cadillac Seville, the Versailles shared numerous (most) sheetmetal, interior & undercarriage components with its siblings. Incredibly, I wish I had one today! The Lincoln Versailles was loaded with sound deadening material & a re-tuned chassis that set the ride quality & comfort far beyond the Monarch / Granada! Same with interior trim & carpeting, it was heavily upgraded even though the semblence could not be disguised. At the time, I was a mechanic at a CT Lincoln dealer. Nothing beat finding a parked Versailles on the property & spending your lunch hour within it if you needed some quiet time. I have never since experienced a car with a ride & cabin as quiet as the interior of the Versailles! To me, the Versailles was a cut above badge engineering, of which the worst to be found is the title held by the Cadillac Cimmaron! Now, that was a disgusting disgrace!

Saving Lincolns in Europe
I will never understand why there are so many domestic cars haters in US. In 2011 I imported 2010 MKS EcoBoost Ultimate for my father, he wanted to have a car that's completly different than other cars on the road here. There's no other MKS in whole country :D His friends who own similar year BMW's, Audi's or Lexus often like the MKS better than their cars. They really like interior quality and quiet, comfotable ride. Even my good friend who will never buy anything else than BMW said that he loves the MKS.

I don't understand the logic "because I think there are better cars out there makes this car bad". Its all a matter of preference, specs or subjective driving dynamics don't just make a car good or bad.

As an owner of a 2013 Taurus Limited, I understand their complaints but find them largely blown out of proportion. With BLIS, review camera, and Cross traffic alert, I feel the "blind spots" are not nearly the issue they make them out to to be. MyFordTouch is a bit iffy, but again, overall not nearly as slow or buggy as the reviews make it out to be. The touch senstive controls I find work perfectly, aside from the occasional accidental push, which is usually opposite of the complaints that it doesn't work when touched. The biggest complaint I have is they need to figure out a way to get better interior space, especially in usable storage like the console.
