i just saw on scp site, their dual exhaust, has an x pipe resonator in it. if i get an x-pipe resonator, then the true dual can be made right! ?

Yup, or you can have the exhaust shop fabricate their own x-pipe for you.Although, with the resonator, it will soften it up a bit so it doesn't sound raspy and annoying like my car. :p

lmao. i talked to my dad again, he thinks that maybe they don't know how to do it. i have no clue, when he takes me there, im gonna tell them, put an x-pipe resonator in there, then run dual 2.5'' piping, and flowmaster super 44's ?? im startin to think they probably don't know how. gonna have to look for another exhaust shop if they say they can't do it, im thinkin to myself i see alot of people online with the same car and true dual exhaust, it can be done.. he originally told my dad he dunno how geno from LMS would run true duals, he said he would have to go down to 1.5'' piping :O do you think i'll be better off with the x-pipe resonator. 2.5'' piping, and flowmaster super 44's? what mufflers will make this thing sound badass, 2.5''

actually see that i only have the flowmaster 40 series, not the super 40's, supposedly the 40's are the loudest, so ill look for the super 40's. anything louder that will turn heads, but not too loud, that are louder than the super 40's?

Dude, find another exhaust shop. That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. 2.5" exhaust is extremely do-able on these cars and pretty much every aftermarket exhaust setup on the Mark VIIIs you see on this board are running 2.5" exhaust. That guy needs to put the bong down. Why on God's green earth someone would tell you to downsize your exhaust system is beyond me. You don't put Geo Metro exhaust behind a QuadCam V8.

If you want to retain a luxury look and get mufflers for a very reasonable price that sound good, try these:

Now once you find an exhaust shop that is worth a crap, I am willing to bet they can make an x-pipe for you no problem. It's going to be cheaper that way, but if you want to spend the extra coin, get the x-pipe resonator and hand it off to them. In my opinion though, with your stock manifolds and cats in the system, running an x-pipe isn't going to be that obnoxious.

I guarantee you will NOT be pleased by the sound of flowmasters when you install them in place of te stock mufflers (although, you did jut start driving so anything loud probably sounds sweet when you're driving it).

thanks for the help. and J, theres already flow 40s on the car, i think they sound decent, but i want something louder and aggressive, not a low rumble like it has now. and i haven't started driving yet :) i move the car around to wash it, sometimes go with my dad in empty parking lots, don't have my license yet, but im looking to have the exhaust done by spring of next year, so like march april. and agreed, my dad said they either don't know how to do it, or they don't want to. i want to print out some of the posts on here to show the morons that 2.5'' true duals can be made on this car ffs. idiots, you'd think they're getting paid and they said they don't know how or impossible to be done.

Maybe this will help...

You can see where it was originally setup to the stock pipes then later fitted to flanged headers with new downpipes. This was originally on the '93 and since removed and put on the '96 with Magnaflow mufflers.

and thats 2.5'' piping right? wow that'll help alot if i print it out thanks dude!
Yep, 2-1/2" with single X-pipe and 2-1/2 in 2-1/2 out DynoMax UltraFlo mufflers.

When installed on the '96, I replaced the mufflers with SS MagnaFlows with SUV tips.
