I wonder if you could get one from a late 95 or 96 and patch it in. Really no clue though, but those were mounted right under the rear view mirror. It would be some wire work.

I am not sure how thick the module is, but there would even be room above the headliner too.

If you have a moon roof, there should be room. If not, I think its tighter. Taking the headliner down is not too hard, but its a little bit of a project. This may help a bit, something I wrote up:

I have the same problem but I believe the rear seat wouldn’t be far enough away and remember you have magnetic motors under the front seats. I was thinking about the front of the car in the headliner but I'm also thinking of removing the Info center and replacing it with a Pocket PC with GPS

Yes you could do that but then you would never get to read your "LOW WASHER FLUID" warning after you have used about 5 squirts of fluid. How could you stand it??!?!?

Are you guys talking about the compass losing it's sync all the time? Mine seems to do it when it sits in the cold for a while.

I can't remember if it was doing it before I had the Clarion amp mounted to the back of the seat in the trunk. Could the amp be causing it?

not sure how big of a magnetic feald an amp would make.

The thing is that it works most of the time. It just seems to act up when it's cold outside.

I't not the amp. Because the factory jbl amp sits in the same rack i getting ready to move mine i fogure if it works away from the rear speakers then i need to find a spot just as far away from the subs. but i have one question there are two little sqaure modules catty cornered from the compass module on both corners of the module a wonder if they help create the field. if not are they part of the calibration the are both the same distance from the module what are they any one know
                            ?

Those are likely the soft and hard ride relays for the shock damping module.
