discovery channel, man their freakin me out!

Did anyone catch the mega-tsunami show on sunday night? They were showing the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Canary Islands' La Palma island. The graphics they used were disturbing! Depicting a wall of water as high as 2100 feet slamming into the length of the east coast. I realize that has a possibility of happening,but I beleive they could be putting ideas in the minds of terrorists? I hope for the sake of the country that nothing like this ever happens!

A wave like that would do lot to revive the faltering surfing industry in the Catskills.

Unless terrorists get a hold of a nuclear bomb and know where to place it to cause an avalanche or volcanic eruption, I think we are safe.

I also wonder how the terrorists would create a tsunami. I'm more afraid of our water supply being contaminated than anything else.

my reasoning is: the above mentioned volcanic island has a large fault line. it basically has created a 13 mile long rock sitting on a steep slope and part of it is in the ocean. the slab only needs to be started moving and gravity will take over from there. so a nuclear explosion is not needed,just calculated charges along the fault line and inside the volcano which is dormant right now. with the right force downward it will pick up speed and start to crumble and then reach high speeds as it splashes into the ocean,thus creating this deadly tsunami.

I guess the show didn't mention that a large number of countries monitor siesmic activity 24/7 and can pin point the epicenter in minutes. The US likes to say they do it to protect us from earthquakes and junk like that but in reality they are watching other countries doing weapons testing. The other countries do it to us as well.

One explosion will attract attention and be logged. Two explosions in the same area will attract "weather" satellite attention, three explosions in one area will bring out the spy planes nobody has, four explosions will bring out troops.
