RE: Check This Out
Isn't that weird Geno? I can carry, but i can't carry anywhere i might need it. . Oh well.
Previously, anyone could apply, but in most counties they just didn't give them out. It was at the discretion of the county gun board, and most of the counties around detroit have pretty liberal gun boards (made up of a few elected officials, i believe the sheriff, prosecutor, and a few others). Macomb county (where i live) was pretty loose with them, but they still wouldn't give you one if you were CHARGED with a certain list of misdemeanors (not convicted)in the past so many years. Since i've been charged with a few minor offenses but never convicted, i was SOL for like 10 years or something. I'm sure that just about anyone could get one in plenty of counties up north, though. Then they changed the law and made it a lot more equitable, but they don't let you carry it in a lot of places. They also raised the age to get a CCW from 18 to 21. I believe Michigan has always honored concealed weapons permits from any other state. That was a loophole for a long time, people would get them in FL through the mail for a while, and use them here.
Oh, and go up north, i'm sure you'll find some people packing at mass.
The only time i really carried was when i was delivering pizza. I would just leave my .40 under the seat of my car, but i work on a military base, so that's out too. In all honesty, i haven't even been shooting all year.
