You know... it may seem corny to you all, but my whole life, I have struggled for recognition. My highlights are:
the best drag racer in my class(1996 Street Machine 1 champion-Goodguys Nostalgia Drag Racing). The problem was, they didnt award the title to me until part way through the next season due to a "points error". I was awarded second place at the banquet with "Dave Mcclelland" as the M.C., and I had a speech written and everything. They announced another racer as the champion... and I was PISSED! (my son was born the day before, and I left the hospital to go accept my award, only to get snubbed).
I have tuned a track championship winning drag car(Tom Johnson-2001 Sears Point Sportsman Track Champion-NHRA/Summit E.T. Series drag Racing)-
#1 Michelin retail tire salesman/service writer in the country 1996,
Other than that... just another face in the crowd. But I take pride in being known as the guy my car club chapter voted as Vice President. It doesnt mean squat.... to most folks. But to me... it carries a sense of pride.
Geno, you did an awesome job on those cards. I take serious pride in seeing my name with the title "Vice President" written on a card, no matter what its for.
Thanks man... I am pretty touched by that. Now.. gimme a beer and let this "sappy" stuff stop.
Thanks Geno. Thanks LOD-NCA.... proud to "represent"!!!
