Drifting

RE: Drifting

A stick shift helps also. You can drift with an automatic but it's a lot easier to pull off smoothly with a stick shift.

Judging by the backgrounds and style of roads that looked to have been made somewhere in Germany….of course the one guy in the BMW helps place it also. :)

RE: Drifting

i am just getting sick of ricers saying that drifting around a corner is faster than keeping all tires attached to the road.

It does take talent to do on dry pavement but to me, its a waste of tires.

A few friends of mine went to Kart 2 Kart a couple of years ago. Kart 2 Kart is a go-kart place with nice indoor track, a timing system, and reasonably fast go-karts. The go-karts don't have much power down low, so carrying speed through the corners, and going as fast as you can into the straight (so you can actually get into your powerband) is essential for a fast lap.

None of us had ever been there before, but one of my friends was talking all kinds of smack about how he would smoke us all, etc. When we got there, he continued to ridicule me and another of my friends as we examined the track and determined the braking points, apexes, etc., by watching the people that were already out on the track. My smack-talking friend proceeded to tell us how he was just going to slide around all the turns and beat all of us.

So we ran our race, and got our time sheets. Apparently, mister slide-it-around-the-turns smack-talker came in dead last. His fastest lap was slower than my slowest lap. Then comes the excuse, "i had a slow kart". So we found a time sheet from the previous race and showed him that his kart was actually the fastest kart in the previous race. He got really pissed. It was really funny. I kept bringing it up for awhile, and every time, it got him pissed off.
