Ok here is the comparison, I had a chance to drive both cars on the same day I drove the Lincoln first on highway then on surface streets.....Then I drove the Caddy on the surface streets then on the highway.... The fist thing I noticed about the Caddy was it was a eye catcher and very comfortable the rich leather seats, the lumbar massage built in was a delight! the Bose eight speaker system with RDS allowed me to see who was singing which song... I pulled over and sat in the rear seats for about five minutes and almost fell asleep way too much leg room (not a bad thing) the ride seems just a little bumpy compared to the air ride of the mark VIII and one thing I noticed is many of the comforts found in the Evil One are also found in the Caddy which I have nicknamed "The good seed" "good vs evil" I love it!!! the caddy has stabilitrack and the Mark has traction control... the both have the same dashboard information I.E. miles till empty....blah blah blah.
But the real test was power, O to 60 on using the same on ramp from a dead stop was rather interesting......I really expected the Caddy to much better but it appear the front wheel drive trying to pull 3900 pounds with the 300 horse power lacked the required torque in fact I needed to reach 6000 rpm for the Caddy to deliver the required 4200-ft of torque which I never reached.. in fact the Caddy almost seemed clumsy trying to reach 60 from a quick start however it soom made up for it with its smooth shifting until I let off the gas then it seemed to have a hard shift into overdrive.
We all know the lincoln rules from dead stop starts.....
City driving is an incredible experience!!! Quick breaking with ABS all I can say is flawless.....
In closing when it comes to pure power the Lincoln Mark VIII Rules
when it comes to over the top Luxury The Cadillac Deville DTS wins hands down.... it this is any indication of my preference the Lincoln still get the garage the Caddy get the cover and the Honda get to go to the grocery store on errands!!
